The Recent Alumni Master's Opportunity is designed to help Ram baccalaureate graduates further their education and grow their career opportunities by pursuing a master's degree at VCU. Consider enrolling in one of our master's programs and take the next steps in your career!
The RAM Opportunity is available to Summer 2024, Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 VCU baccalaureate graduates. By taking advantage of this opportunity when applying for admission to a master's program for Spring, Summer or Fall 2025, you can benefit from:
- $70 graduate application fee waiver
- One-time $500 scholarship upon full-time enrollment for credit in one of our master's programs (Virginia residents only)

Review the admission requirements for the master's program of interest.

Before submitting the application, request the VCU Recent Alumni Master's Opportunity graduate application fee waiver by emailing ramopp@vcu.edu. Include your name, the program to which you are applying, and the term (Spring, Summer, or Fall 2025) in your email request.

Once you receive approval from our office, complete and submit your online application for the participating program by visiting the VCU Office of Admissions.
- Upon acceptance and verification of full-time enrollment (9 or more credit hours), the one-time $500 scholarship will be automatically applied to the student account (Virginia residents only).
Cost of attendance for academic year 24-25
Cost of attendance is an estimate of educational expenses used to determine financial aid eligibility. These estimates are based on full-time attendance for the entire academic year.
COA is a projected cost and does not represent the actual amount billed by VCU.

Please allow 3-5 business days for your application fee waiver request to be reviewed and a decision rendered.
You will not be refunded for a paid application fee.
The applicant is responsible for the application fee for the bachelor's program. When applying to the master's program, the applicant can request the Graduate Admissions application fee waiver under the RAM Opportunity.
Only one application fee waiver will be issued per academic year. (i.e., fall 2022-summer 2023)
Out-of-state students will not be eligible for the one-time scholarship. However, you may still qualify for the application fee waiver if applying to a master's program.
The application fee waiver is for the VCU Office of Admissions application only.
Students applying for the Nursing Ph.D. program can take advantage of the RAM Opportunity program to receive a VCU application waiver. However, the one-time $500 scholarship will not be applicable.
Students applying for the on-campus MSW program can take advantage of the RAM Opportunity program and its benefits. If you are applying to the online MSW program, you are ineligible for any of the program benefits.
VCU master's students
Students enrolled in a master's program at VCU who plan to apply for a terminal degree may qualify for a limited number of application fee waivers. These waivers are granted to select applicants based on exceptional academic achievement. For more details, please reach out to ramopp@vcu.edu.
